Foundation

The organizer of Balaton Summer Festival (Klassz a pARTon) is the Cimbora Foundation. This civil organization with a history of 30 years had first organized events tied with the television program entitled Cimbora, then other cultural programs, no longer related to television, for children.

The literature program, Cimbora was launched by editor Márta Érdi Szabó in the spirit of the Transylvanian children’s magazine, Cimbora (Buddy) put out by the iconic Elek Benedek. Cimbora was the most significant children’s program on Hungarian Television for 35 years. The basic objective was to communicate values to children through what was very new then, interactivity. In other words, young people were asked to read out from books, write and recite poetry for and in the program.

The same basic objective is behind the events organized by the Cimbora Foundation: offer quality programs to those attending our book clubs, literary contests, historical, fine art and museum programs, camps for children or urban architectural guided tours. The Foundation is convinced that art education and culture can have a tremendous impact on the young generation. Music at the LakeFestival has been an outstanding project of the Foundation since 2015.
